Skyfire 2.0: The Android is Now a Flash-Friendly Device

Well, the iPhone isn’t a fan of Flash but the Android sure is. Skyfire (news, site) launched its first Flash-enabled mobile Web browser last week.

Skyfire 2.0

Skyfire 2.0 for Android builds on Skyfire 1.0, adding cloud computing to enable mobile phones to handle rich media-like videos. Another addition called SkyBar lets users view videos previously unavailable on mobile devices.

As the principal focus of Skyfire’s new and improved browser, here’s a more detailed look at what you can do with SkyBar:

Video: Mobile devices are notorious for having issues with Flash playback, but Skyfire’s browser kills this concern for the Android by translating videos into a format easier for mobile playback.

Related Content: The “Explore” feature digs up the most relevant content on the ‘net based on what a user is viewing at the time. This includes video, buzz, news, images and other sites from the Web.

Sharing: The sharing tool lets users share any article or video with their friends on Facebook, Twitter, or by e-mail and SMS messaging.
