Sweating Away

We made it to Tokyo late last evening and were blessed with much cooler weather, going from the upper 90s to the upper 70s.  Much appreciated as I was growing tired of being a sweatball!

As anticipated, the health checkers were out in full force upon arrival.  They examined our mandatory “where have you been” form, took our tempature and used thermal cameras to make sure we weren’t buggy.  It is a bit intimidating, but all of the countries we visited did the same thing.

Immigration took awhile as they fingerprint and photo each foreigner upon arrival.  Instead of stamps, they now use a barcoded sticker for your 90 day visa.  Very modern, but just not the same as a traditional stamp.

Unfortunately the last airport limosine bus to the hotel had left hours earlier, so we decided to take the direct express bus to Tokyo City Airport Terminal (TCAT) and grab a taxi for the last segment.  This plan worked great and saved us big cash – the taxi straight from the airport can be around US$200!
